Ergonomic costs of ironing clothes on 6 female students were measured in order to evaluate selected irons. The results showed that blood pressure, pulse pressure and average mean pressure while ironing clothes were found significantly low when using light weight iron. (0.77 kgs) as compared to steam iron (1.29 kgs) and heavy weight iron (2.92 kgs). Thus ironing clothes while using light weight iron (0.77 kgs) causes minimum stress to the body and using heavy weight iron (2.92 kgs) is found most taxing to human body.
