EXTENT OF HUMAN ENERGY SAVING (FEMALE WORKERS) BY USING RIGHT POSTURES AND EFFICIENT KITCHEN DEVICES FOR PERFORMING HOUSEHOLD WORK

Human energy saving pattern of 24 feamles was assessed while doing selected household work by using right postures which caused minimum fatique, to body and by using efficient kitchen devices which save both time and energy of worker. Results showed maximum energy saving (73.55 percent) while washing dishes at counter level 82 cms high, followed by brooming and mopping floors in erect standing posture, ironing on 82 cms high washing clothes sitting on 6.5 cms high wooden Paba, grinding spices (both dry and wet) sitting on 13.5 cms high wooden stool (Pihri) and making Chapatis in standing posture on 82 cms high counter. Using time and labour saving devices accounted for overall energy saving of 45.37 percent. Maximum saving was observed in use of electric grinder (81.08 percent), followed by pressure cooker, lemon sqeezer), saag cuttingmachine, chooping board, electric juicer, egg beater and onion chopper.
