Developing cloves of HG-1, HG-6, HG-17, HG-19 and G-1 at four stages. beginning 150 after SOwing (DAS) at 15 day intervals and cloves of G-282. G-1 Yamuna safed, G-41 Agrifound white, G50 Yamuna safed and G-313 Agrifound Parvati at maturity existing in various rings were analysed for Na, K, li, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn and Co. Potassium was found to be maximally concentrated throughout bulb development followed by Ca or Na depending upon variety and developmental stage. Copper contributed the least among minerals. K, Li, Fe and Cu in general were in highest concentration in the cloves found in outer ring. The varieties had considerable varability for the minerals analysed not only at maturity, but also prior to maturity.
