Physical facilities, which are used for illustrations purpose while imparting training to the extension functionaries as well as farmers, improve the effectiveness of the training programme. So, in this paper, an attempt has been made to study the availability and usefulness of the training facilities as perceived by the regional institutes of Rural Development (RIRDs) in Kumaun hills region. The findings reveal that almost all the training facilities were found ‘inadeqate’. Communication support methods were used except ‘dramatization’ and small ‘group participation’ whch were not found very much useful by most of the trainers.
