Abstract

Various factors influencing the job performance of seventy two supervisors selected from the three regions in Andhra Pradesh were assessed through structured pre-tested interview schedule. Correlation co-efficient, step down regression analysis and path analysis were used to predict both the contribution and direct & indirect influence of independent variables to job performance of supervisors. Correlation co-efficient showed that the variables persistence disposition, job satisfaction and knowledge were positively correlated to job performance of supervisors. Step down regression analysis revealed that the job performance of ICDS supervisors was mostly influenced by three factors namely persistence disposition, job satisfaction ahd knowledge. Path analysis inferred that job satisfaction had the largest direct effect on job performance of supervisors besides acting as an instrument through which fifteen other independent variables had contributed their largest indirect influence. Formal education of supervisors had the highest indirect effect on job performance while persistence disposition, knowledge and job satisfaction showed a strong positive relationship with job performance of supervisors as a whole {urban, rural and tribal projects togeth
