The Uttar Pradesh is largest producer of milk in the country, but state is no exception with regard to lower productivity of bovine, as prevailing at national level. With the optimistic view to enhance productivity, state Government launched Intensive Mini Dairy Project (IMDP) in 1991 under phase-I in 17 districts. Under present study effort was applied to assess the impact created by IMDP with reference to knowledge and adopti,pn level of dairy farmers in the project area. An ex-post facto survey was made; as a result significantly higher level of knowledge and adoption level were found among beneficiaries in comparison to non-beneficiary farmers. The result obtained is sufficient impetus for Government to replicate this project over large area on intensive basis.
