ADOPTION OF AGRICULTURAL AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY PRACTICES BY THE THARU TRIBE

The study was conducted to measure the extent of adoption of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry practices among the Tharu tribe and revealed that majority of the beneficiaries & non-beneficiaries were found to had medium level of overall adoption of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry practices. There was a remarkable cent percent adoption of major Agricultural and Animal Husbandry practices among the Tharu tribe but some of the practices could not be adopted upto a desired level. The Agricultural and Animal Husbandry practices viz., seed treatment, insect and pest control, A. H., pregnancy diagnosis, mineral mixture feeding and regular dowering were adopted to a poor extent. The A. H. practices such as dethroning and test for mastitis were not adopted by any farmer of both the categories.
