PRE-WEANING AND POST-WEANING MORTALITY IN GOAT KIDS OF BEETAL X OSMANABADI CROSS

Total 238 mortality, happened during the year 1985 to 99 were considered for the pre-weaning and post-weaning age group. Pre-weaning and post-weaning age groups were further divided into subgroups for 0 to 1, 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 (Pre-weaning). 3 to 6 and 6 to 9 (Post-weaning) months. Kids from pre-weaning age group had higher mortality than post weaning. Among the pre-weaning, the kids during 0 to 1 month were more victims of deaths. During all the years of study, pre-weaning age group had higher trend of mortality.
