The thrust of the present investigation was to study the psychological determinants of entrepreneurship in terms of entrepreneurial motivation, achievement orientation, risk bearing capacity, leadership skill and innovativeness among women entrepreneurs running micro and small enterprises in Balachaur block of Nawanshahar district. A list of 28 entrepreneurial units representing 7 different enterprises viz., tailoring, dairy, dari making, ban making, beauty parlor, soft toy making and bee keeping which met the criteria of having fixed capital upto 1 lac and were operational at least from the last three years were selected as sample. In order to determine entrepreneurial traits of rural women entrepreneurs an entrepreneurial scale was used as a tool of data collection. The findings revealed that women entrepreneurs had high level of entrepreneurial motivation, risk bearing capacity and leadership skills; whereas they had medium level of achievement orientation and innovativeness related traits.
