ADOPTION OF IMPROVED DAIRY FARMING PRACTICES BY MEMBERS OF PUNJAB DAIRY FARMERS ASSOCIATION

The present study was conducted among the active members of Punjab Dairy Farmers Association. A random sample of 120 farmers was selected and adoption level of recommended practices in six major domains of dairy farming such as breeding, feeding, housing, calf management, milking and health care & disease prevention practices was studied. Highest level of adoption was seen in calf management practices (76.5%) followed by breeding (69.3%), milking (68.6%), feeding (66.3%), health care (61.8%) and lowest in case of housing practices (59.4%).
