INFLUENCE OF WYTEP ON HEALTH AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF FARM WOMEN – A STUDY IN KARNATAKA

A study was conducted on farm women of Women Youth Training Extension Project (WYTEP) beneficiary (200) and non-beneficiary (100) to know their health and nutritional status in Mandya District of Karnataka. The mean height of farm women of WYTEP beneficiary group were 152.68 cm and 50.41 kg of weight and non-beneficiary group 151.2 cm of height and only 45.29 kg of weight. On comparison with the mean BMI observed that 17.5 per cent of beneficiary and 27 per cent of non-beneficiary were under nourished. The occurrence of morbidity symptoms were more in farm women particularly non-beneficiary group
