A STUDY ON SOURCES OF INFORMATION USED BY GOAT KEEPERS

The present study was conducted in Ambajogai taluka of Beed district for measuring the
exposure of goat keepers to sources of information and sources of information for seeking
information on improved goat management practices. Hundred respondents from 10 villages of
the taluka were interviewed. The data were collected with the help of well constructed and pretested interview schedule. Most used sources of information by respondents were friends,
neighbors and relatives as personal sources while radio was most used mass media. Education,
annual income, flock size, social participation, knowledge, animal belief, cosmopoliteness showed
positive and significant relationship with use of sources of information while age and family size
did not show any relationship.
