KNOWLEDGE OF IMPROVED DAIRY FARMING PRACTICES AMONG DAIRY FARMERS OF JAMMU REGION

The study was conducted in Akhnoor and R. S. Pura blocks of Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir to assess the level of knowledge of selected dairy farmers about improved dairy farming practices.   The analysis of information collected by personal interview method revealed that majority of the respondents (61.50 per cent) had medium level of knowledge regarding improved dairy farming practices.  They possessed maximum knowledge about breeds and breeding practices and minimum knowledge regarding housing practices. There was a significant difference in knowledge between different groups of respondents regarding improved dairy farming practices.
