DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES: IMPROVEMENT IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF RURAL WOMEN

Ecological empowerment of rural women by creating suitable environment friendly technological package and imparting knowledge and skill to women is essential for sustainable development. In order to improve the quality of life of rural families various programmes has been introduced for increasing the knowledge, introducing the entrepreneurial skills and capacity building programmes. Present study was conducted to assess the improvement in quality of life through interventions provided to the rural women. Developmental activities were carried out in the adopted village for three years and improvement in quality of life was measured with the help of various parameters included in the light of the developmental activities carried out in the adopted village like demonstrations, trainings, video and slide show, exhibitions, group discussion etc. Maximum impact was found in capacity index followed by gain in knowledge, personality development and skill up gradation. Majority of the rural women had medium impact in the quality of life.
