Diurnal rhythm of A. mellifera L. and A. cerana Fab. on toria in mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh has been described. Of these two species, A. mellifera colonies did not collect surplus honey and also failed to meet out its food requirement and build up. A. cerana was found to bring more nectar load (mean 13.8 mg) as compared to A. mellifera (mean 12.1 mg).
