GENETIC VARIABILITY AND PATH COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS IN SORGHUM
1Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics,
Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur - 313 002, India
ABSTRACT
One hundred and seventy six germplasm lines and two checks of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.
Moench) were evaluated in Augmented design. High estimates of PCV and GCV were observed for
grain yield per plant, panicle length and 100 seed weight. Maximum heritability was exhibited by
the trait panicle length. Grain yield per plant showed significant positive correlation with 100 seed
weight. Path analysis for grain yield indicated highest direct effect of days to 50% flowering followed by 100 seed weight
