A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of few insecticidal schedules
against Leucmodes orbonahs Guen. in brinjal along with their cost effectiveness. The study
indicated that the application of cartap hydrochlonde and tnazophos alone and carbofuran +
cartap hydrochlonde, carbofuran + triazophos at 15 days intervals starting from 30 days after
planting were very effective in bringing down the shoot infestation and fruit damage compared
to untreated control. In case of total and healthy fruit yields, the application of cartap hydrochloride alone was superior to other. It recorded the total and healthy fruit yields at 9.60 t/ha and 6.73m t/ha as compared to 4.55 t/ha and 2.14 t/ha respectively in untreated control. Cartap hydrochlonde application also secured highest monetary benefit of Rs. 22.74 for each rupee spent of insecticide application.
