ABSTRACT
Twelve genotypes were screened for charcoal rot resistance under different soil conditions during 2000 and 2001 in sick plot of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Bijapur. The entries RS-29, E36-1, 9-13, DSV-5, 296B and RSLG 262 were found promising in deep soils, while RSP-3, E36-1, 9-13, DSV-5, 296B and RSLG 262 in medium soil against charcoal rot resistance. Thus, the studies indicated the genotypic variability with respect to degree of resistance in different soil types.
