Background: Rose (Rosa hybrida L.) micropropagules were studied to assess the impact of jasmonic acid (JA) on their in vitro growth, biomass accumulation and biochemical parameters. The study also investigated the effects of two JA incorporation methods-pre-autoclaving and post-autoclaving (filter sterilization). 
 
Methods: Micropropagules were cultivated in vitro on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with jasmonic acid at concentrations of (0, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg L-1). Growth parameters, including shoot number, shoot length, fresh weight anddry weight, were measured. Biochemical analyses included total carbohydrates, proteins, phenols and chlorophyll content. The influence of JA concentration and incorporation method was evaluated. 
 
Result: JA application method (pre or post-autoclaving) did not significantly affect growth parameters. Low concentrations of jasmonic acid (5 and 10 mg L-1) increased total chlorophyll content in rose micropropagules when applied using the pre-autoclaving method, with the highest accumulation observed at 25 mg L-1&nbsp;(0.46&plusmn;0.02 mg g-1&nbsp;fwt). In contrast, post-autoclaving application resulted in a marked reduction in chlorophyll content across all concentrations. The highest biochemical improvements were observed at 25 mg L-1&nbsp;JA, while concentrations above 50 mg L-1&nbsp;negatively impacted growth and biochemical attributes. These findings highlight JA&rsquo;s effectiveness as a regulator for improving rose micropropagules&rsquo; growth and biochemical properties, with optimal results achieved at moderate concentrations and slight variations in response based on the incorporation method.

<div>The term &lsquo;bio-regulator&rsquo; has been used to encompass the natural and synthetic compounds that regulate various plant growth and developmental processes. Plant bio-regulators (PBRs) previously called plant growth regulators. Use of PBRs with a unique fact finding support assistance from biotechnology made a new approach of manipulating plant biological activities for enhancing growth, yield, quality, nutritive value and an important tool to reduce biotic and abiotic stress in plants. PBRs like jasmonic acid (JA) and its derivatives act as an omnipresent signaling molecules which mediate plant responses to biotic and abiotic stress. Salicylic acid (SA) and methyl salicylate are endogenous signal molecules, also playing pivotal roles in regulating stress responses. A polyamine is low-molecular weight organic compound having two or more primary amino groups, act as ethylene repressor. Prohexodione calcium is a new generation anti-gibberellin. Along with listed names several other bio-regulators are in vogue to improve plant growth, development, stress resistance, pathogenic defense and productivity. In this review, it&rsquo;s an attempt to portray existing advanced knowledge about under utilized bio-regulators role and utility in cultivation of fruit crops.</div>

<div>SAR and ISR are key acquired resistances in plants that play major role in imparting resistance to plants against various pathogens namely bacteria, virus, nematodes etc. The increasing awareness towards chemicals has led scientists to work on new mechanism of resistances. Both SAR and ISR are of future perspective for disease management. SAR require salicylic acid as transport molecule along with other complexes that include reactive oxygen species, lipid molecules whereas ISR require Jasmonic acid as signal molecule. SAR is more long lasting and broad spectrum as compared to ISR. Non-pathogenic bacteria and insectivores induce ISR. In future, disease management will be more focused on ISR and SAR.</div>
