Field experiment was conducted during kharif (June-July), 2009-10 to study the management of   monocot weeds in irrigated groundnut. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with 8 treatments with 3 replication.TG-24 variety of groundnut was used in the trial. Results of the experiment revealed that  application of imazethapyr and chlorimuron (100+24 g ha-1) recorded  maximum nodules plant-1,plant height , pods plant-1,pod yield, kernel yield, haulm yields followed by imazethapyr 300 g ha-1      and imazethapyr 200 g ha-1.Based on the data the highest pod yield 13.37 q ha-1 was recorded with hand weeding at 20 and 40 DAS which was statistically at par with  imazethapyr + chlorimuron (100+24 g ha-1)   12.70 q ha-1, combination of imazethapyr + chlorimuron fetched the highest  net monetary return of Rs. 14312 ha-1 and B:C ratio of (1.8), which might be due to less cost of labour in this treatment.
