Two hundred germplasm lines along with 6 commercial varieties of mungbean were evaluated over four environments for morphological characters, seed yield and its components. Multivariate linear regression analysis was carried out to determine the characters contributing seed yield/plant, biological yield/plant and harvest index. Days to maturity, plant height, cluster/plant, pods/clusters, pods/plant, pod length, seeds/pod, seeds/plant and humdred seed weight contributed mainly to seed yield/plant; days to 50% flowering, days from flowering to maturity, plant height, primary branches/plant, pods/cluster, pods/plant, pod length, seeds/pod, seeds/plant and hundred seed weight contributed mainly to biological yield/plant and days to 50% flowering, days from flowering to maturity, piant height, primary branches/plant, clusters/piant, pods/plant, pod length, seeds/pod and hundred seed weight contributed mainly towards variation in harvest index
