Twenty five varieties (16 determinate, 9 indeterminate) were evaluated over 2 years viz. rainy season 1992 and 1993. Plant type did not affect reproductive phase intervals except R1-R2 period. The pod filling period (R5-R7) was negatively, non-significantly correlated with seed longevity and positively but poorly correlated with seed yield and seed size. The total reproductive phase interval could be used as initial selection criterion for identifying lines with long seed fill. Seed longevity was positively (significant) correlated with days to flowering.
