Three plant growth parameters and four root characteristics were studied in soybean variety Brag to elucidate the effect of N and P fertilizers. The experiment was conducted with four treatmenls using randomized complete block design. Data were recorded at three growth stages viz. vegetative flowering and fruiting. The analysis revealed that higher dose of nitrogen + phosphorus was found superior over control and lower doses for all the traits. At higher doses of Nand P, a significant increase in plant growth and development was recorded.
