Diallel analysis was done using 28 F1s obtained from 8 x 8 diallel mating design, excluding reciprocals for yield and its components. Highly significant gea and sea variances were observed. The additive gene effects were predominent. KDM-1, Tata mung local and PIP-3-62-3 were found to be the best general combiners and the crosses AKM 9504 x KDM-I, Kopergaon x KOMI and Tata mung local x KDM-l were observed to be superior cross combinations for yield contributing characters.
