Genotype x environment interactions was studied lor seed germination and vigour index in nineteen genotypes at six different stress condition. Significant genotype (G) and environment (E) interactions were observed. Both predictable and non-predictable components of genotypes x environment interactions were important for the expression of these traits. However, linear com ponents are predominant. On the basis of environmental sensitivity JS 94–14, JS 90–41 and JS 94-9 for germination and JS 91-4, JS 93-5 and JS 94-9 for vigour index were found stable under different stress.
