Different dry and wet scarification methods were evaluated for breaking the physical dormancy of tamarind seeds caused due to hard seed. Among the treatments, the seeds scarified with commercial sulphuric acid @ 200 ml kg−1 for 15 minutes maximised the seed germination by reducing both the abnormal seedling and hard seed. The seed quality parameters highlighted the treatment in the higher order.
