Yield contributes viz., number of developed pods, number of seeds per pod and seed yield per plant improved with the crop sown on 15th June during the year 1995–96 and 1996–97 of investigation. The test weight (1000 seed weight) was significantly superior during 1996–97 only with the 15th June sowing. Significantly superior seed yield was recorded with early sowing (l5th June) dUring 1995–96. The wider row spacing of 60 cm increased significantly the values of yield attributes viz., number of developed pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, test weight and seed yield per plant during both the years of study. The row spacing of 30 cm enhanced the seed yield significantly dUring 1995–96. Application of 75 kg P2O5 ha−1 showed pronounced effect on these yield attributes. However, the level of 75kgP2O5ha−1 was at par with the level of 50kg P2O5 ha−1 as regards seeds perpodand 1000 seed weight during 1996–97
