Tissues of root and shoot systems of groundnut plants, inoculated with VAM alone, Rhizobium alone, VAM and Rhizobium (Dual inoculation) and uninoculated, were analysed for reducing and nonreducing sugars, starch, individual sugars, organic acids and p-amylase activity. Inoculated plants contained greater amounts of reducing, non-reducing sugars and lesser amounts of starch. There was no qualitative change in both sugars and organic acids -,md were more in inoculated plant tissues than in uninoculated plant tissues. The increase was more pronounced in dual inoculated plants.
