A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 1997–98 and 1998–99 to study the effect of polyethylene film mulch on flowering. yield attributes and yield of groundnut. The pooled results revealed that the days to 50% flowering was earlier in the polyethylene film mulched plots when compared to non mulched plots. The total number of flowers produced/plant was highest in the non mulched plots. However the peg formation and pod setting percentage were highest in the mulched plots. The maximum values of yield attributes and a pod yield of 2239 kg/ha was recorded under flat bed with polyethylene film mulch which is 46.8% increase over normal sawing.
