Genetic variation in lac yiele potential along with six plant and six lac insect productivity linked attributes and genotypic, phenotypic and environmental corillation between them were studied in four Flemingia spp. (Papilionaceae) viz., F macrophylla, F semia/ata. F stricta and F braeteata for their characterization and ranking in order of performance. Estimates of coefficient of variance, phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variance, heritability and genetic advance obtained ranged between 7.60–46.86%, 14.77–66.88%,9.92–64.22%.0.36–0.923 and 3.34–15.53, respectively indicating moderate to high genetic influence over these characters. Values of phenotypic, genotypic and environmental correlation coefficients indicate 30,48 and 33 significant correlation coefficient respectively, out of 78 values obtained for each class of correlation. Based on the yield of scraped lac, the four species can be ranked as F. semialata > F maerophylla > F strieta > F braeteata.
