Of the four chemicals tested on four genotypes of groundnut, IAA and Ethrel induced maximum polled sterility than GA3 and 2,4-D. Maximum pollen sterility was recorded in TG 26 (56.2%) and JL 24 (50.1%) with IAA 100 ppm. The percent pollen sterility over genotypes recorded ranged from 1.6 to 15.1% for 2,4-D, 3.1 to 31.6% for Ethrel, 1.1 to 13.5% for GA3, and 9.7 to 56.2% for IAA. Among the genotypes tested, JL 24 and TG 26 were more sensitive to all the chemicals in inducing pollen sterility.
