Generation means analysis was done in two crosses following additive-dominance model and joint scaling test (JST). The additive gene effects were found more important than dominant gene effects in both years and crosses. The dominant x dominant interaction was highly significant for all the characters in both crosses and years, whereas dominance component was significant for days to maturity, plant height, branches per plant and seed yield per plant for both years in cross Qms-1 x Manak, The dominance component was significant for days to 50% flowering and to maturity for both years in the cross MS Prabhat (DT} x Manak/Duplicate type of epistasis was observed in both the crosses for all traits except for branches/plant and pods plant in first year in cross Qms-1 x Manak, In JST model, it was present in cross Qms-1 x Manak for days to 50% flowering, plant height and branches per plant and for days to maturity in cross MS Prabhat (DT) x Manak for both years.
