Studies on correlation and path analysis were carried out in the F2 generation of the five crosses of cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) walp] namely Co 2 x CoVu 623, CoVu 623 x C03, CoVu 623 x Co 4, Paiyur 1 x CoVu 623 and CoVu 623 x KM Ifor yield and its components. Seed yield was found to be positively associated with its component traits in the order of number of primary branches, number of clusters per plant and number of seeds per pod and influenced high direct effect on yield.
