Twenty-eight F1 hybrids and their eight pare~ts of mungbean were evaluated for genetic divergence and heterosis. Differential clustering pattern of parents and F1s suggested appreciable genetic diversity among the parents as well as hybrids. lack of relationship between genetic divergence and geographical region did not express any affinity in clustering pattern. The parents separated by medium D2 values generally showed high heterosis for all the characters. The cross combination LGG-471 x CO-5, LGG441 x RMG-275 and LGG-431 x CO-5 showed high heterotic effects along with considerable genetic divergence.
