1Dry Farming Research Station,
Junagadh Agricultural University, Targhadia (Gujarat)- 360 003
ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during 1985 to 1996 on Vertic Ustochrepts soils at Main Dry
Farming Research Station, Targhadia (Gujarat) to study the effect of periodical application of
phosphorus with and without FYM on yield of groundnut. The results revealed that application of
FYM @ 10 t ha-1 improved plant height, number of branches, number of pods/plant, 100 kernel
weight, shelling percentage and haulm yield, however, its effect was found non significant on pod
yield of groundnut. Application of phosphorus was found beneficial in respect of plant height,
number of branches/plant and number of pods/plant, but it could not altered pod as well as haulm
yields of groundnut.
