1Department of Horticulture,
. G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar - 26;!flls, India
ABSTRACT
The effect of low plastic tunnels on growth characteristics of tomato was studies during winter-spring season for two years. All the growth characters studied were found superior in variety Pant Bahar as compared to another variety Pusa Early Dwarf. In general, plants covered with plastic tunnels of any gauge performed better than the uncovered plants. The 300 and 400 gauge thick polyethylene coverings were found most effective. Most of the growth characters did not show significant difference due to perforations in plastic tunnels.
