EFFECT OF CYPERMETHRIN ON BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS ON GONADS OF CHROTOGONUS TRACHYPTERUS (ORTHOPTERA-ACRIDIDAE)
1Eco-Toxicology Laboratory, Entomology Section, Center for Advanced Study,
Department of Zoology, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur - 302 004 India.
ABSTRACT
Effects of sublethal doses (16.56 ppm and 8.34 ppm) of Cypermethrin on gonads of
female and male Chrotogonus trachypterus were studied respectively. The changes in the
level of total protein, cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase and ATPase at
time intervals of 12, 24 and 48 hrs. of treatment were evaluated. Cypermethrin led to
significant and highly significant increase at 12, 24 and 48 hrs. respectively after treatment
in male while in female non significant increase at 12 hrs., highly significant (P
