Background:&nbsp;Fig trees (Ficus carica&nbsp;L.) are among the most significant economic fruit crops in Iraq; nonetheless, they face important yield losses because of mite infestations. This research aims to examine the population dynamics and seasonal abundance of numerous mite species to provide scientific data for optimizing the timing of integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. 
 
Methods:&nbsp;A field experiment was conducted during the 2024 growing season in Abu Ghraib, Baghdad, on a 5-dunum orchard. Four cultivars (Bani Muslim, Turkish, Cypriot and Waziri) were evaluated using a randomized complete block design (RCBD). Sampling followed a vertical distribution strategy across three canopy levels (upper, middle and lower). Weekly leaf samples were analyzed under a stereo microscope to determine the numerical density of mite species and data were statistically analyzed using GenStat (ANOVA). 
 
Result:&nbsp;Three mite species were identified:&nbsp;Aceria ficus&nbsp;(Cotte),&nbsp;Tetranychus urticae&nbsp;(Koch) and&nbsp;Rhyncaphytoptus ficifoliae&nbsp;(Keifer). Significant differences were found between cultivars and canopy levels.&nbsp;A. ficus&nbsp;and&nbsp;R. ficifoliae&nbsp;recorded the highest densities on the Bani Muslim cultivar, while&nbsp;T. urticae&nbsp;peaked on the Turkish cultivar. Spatially, all species showed a significant preference for the middle canopy level. Temporally, mite populations exhibited two seasonal peaks (Spring and Autumn), with a sharp decline during extreme summer temperatures (July-August).
