Efficacy of different insecticides viz. Spinosad 48SC, Cypermethrin 25EC, Profenophos 50EC and Indoxacarb 15EC @ 150, 250, 1250 and 500 ml/ha, respectively against pod borer, Maruca vitrata (Geyer) in pigeonpea was tested. All tested insecticides significantly decreased the larval population of pod borer, flower incidence, pod damage and increased the grain yield as compared to untreated control. But Spinosad 48SC @ 150ml/ha was found to be most effective against test insect and it was closely followed by Indoxacarb 15EC and Cypermethrin 25EC.
