Twenty three mutant lines of pigeonpea were grown during rainy season of 1994 in RBO trials. On the basis of D2 analysis, twenty three mutant lines were grouped into nine clusters of which cluster I was the largest followed by cluster III. The intra cluster distance ranged from 0 to 2.00. The inter cluster distance (D2) was maximum between cluster V and IX (17.29) and minimum between cluster V and VI (1.25). The mean cluster data revealed that cluster III and cluster VII showed maximum pods/plant and seeds/pod respectively. The yield was maximum in cluster V. The D2 analysis was confirmed by canonical analysis. Among the traits, 100 seed weight, pods/plant and yield/plant contributed 29.64%, 26.64% and 19.37% to the genetic divergence respectively. Thus considering genetic divergence, cluster means and pod damage G2 10-3-3 of cluster V, G1 15-4-4 of cluster VI, G2 20-4-1 of cluster IX, G1 15-4-3 of cluster II identified and are to be tested further in subsequent generation for developing varieties
