Field experiments were conducted during the winter seasons of 1998–1999, and 1999–2000 to study the effect of date of sowing and seed size on the yield and yield components of faba bean {Vida {aba L. major). Progressive dealy in sowing beyond 20th November, a yield reduction of 15.8, 29.0 and 45.7% was recorded with successive delays in sowing at every 15 days interval. Plant height, pod plant−1, branches plant−1 and 100-seeds weight followed the same trend as yield. Seed yield, plant−1 height, and primary branches plant! were not significantly affected by seed size.
