Intensive survey of Haryana and adjoining states viz., Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh was conducted to select candidate plus trees (CPT's). Selected 81 trees showed wide variation in plant height, clear bole, straightness, 100 seeds weight and germination percentage. First generation orchard established from superior progenies revealed significant differences in height, Dbh and clear bole height among the progenies tested.
