ABSTRACT

Twenty seven genotypes (Eighteen hybrids, nine parents) of pigeonpea were evaluated in a randomized block design for 11 characters. Correlation studies indicated that seed yield per plant had significant positive relationship with number of pods per plant, number of clusters per plant, plant height, days to maturity, days to 50 per cent flowering. Path analysis also revealed pods per plant, 100 seed weight and plant height to be the major contributors for seed yield and the selection based on these attributes will be most advantageous in pigeonpea.
