The field experiment were conducted during kharif 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 to know the
stable performance of early pigeon pea genotypes under irrigated condition. Nine genotypes of
pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.) were evaluated in RBD with three replications for four years.
Variances due to genotypes and environments were significant for all the characters except number of pods / plant. Simultaneous consideration of stability parameters showed that ‘METH 121’, had better stability over the environments under irrigated conditions. Genotypes viz., ‘TT 2000’ and ‘TAT 9903’ were better for favourable environments, whereas ‘MA 29’ was suitable for
unfavourable environments.
