Three hundred forty seven front line demonstrations on chickpea were conducted on different
modules during the year 1998-99 to 2006-07. The gap between conventional practices and
improved package of practices was much higher ranging from 115 kg /ha to 575 kg /ha. There is
need to make stronger the extension services for educating the cultivators in the implementation
of improved technology. Under irrigation management demonstration, the technology gap was
much higher i.e. 575kg /ha.
