Kinetic study of ciprofloxacin (4 mg/kg i.m.) in goats showed peak concentrations of 1.45±0.21 and 225.00±18.17 μg/ml in plasma and urine, respectively at 1 hr and 6.24±0.18 μg/ml in milk at 2 hr were attained. The therapeutic concentration (>0.12 μg/ml) was maintained upto 8, 12 and 36 hr in plasma, milk and urine. The mean absorption half life (t½ Ka), elimination half life (t½ β) and total body clearance (ClB) of 0.48±0.06 hr, 2.32±0.70 hr and 12.60±1.58 ml/kg/min were calculated. A high Vdarea of 2.48±0.26 L/kg obtained for this drug denotes that the drug is well distributed.
