Abstract

A study was carried out on the concentration of 16 important blood constituents in 28 Jersey crossbred cows, to investigate their relationship with order of lactation. Blood samples were collected once in a month for a period of one year. Effect of orders of lactation caused highly significant (P<0.01) variation for BUN, total protein, globulin, SGOT, haemoglobin, PCV, calcium and sodium and significant difference (P0.05) for cholesterol, magnesium and copper in the blood.
