ABSTRACT
The histology of the vomero-nasal organ was studied in mithun, yak and zebu. The rostral half of the organ was lined by pseudostratified ciliated columnar cell with few goblet cell, while the medial wall of the caudal half of the organ was lined by the thicker olfactory epithelium. The lateral half of the organ was lined by pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium. The lamina propria of the lateral wall was thicker with nerves and blood vessels. The serous glands were observed in mithun and zebu, while few sero-mucous glands could be observed in the lamina propria of yak.
