ABSTRACT
Mycobacterium ar/ium ssp. Paratuberculosis (Map) is the causative agent of johne's disease in animals. A PPE (Proline Proline Glutamic acid rich) antigen encoding 34.9 kDa hypothetical protein of M avium subsp. ParatuberclIlosiswas cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis revealed that no other published sequences having significant homology with that PPE gene .which elucidated that the PPE 34.9 kDa could be used as diagnostic antigen.
