The present investigation was carried out to study the semen characteristics of Punganur bulls. The overall mean ejaculate volume (ml), mass activity (0-4 scale), individual motility (%),  sperm concentration (millions/ml), live sperms (%), sperm head abnormalities (%), acrosomal damage (%),  mid piece abnormalities (%),  tail abnormalities (%) and  total sperm abnormalities  in neat semen of Punganur bulls were 3.25 ± 0.15, 3.26 ± 0.06, 72.85 ± 0.71, 1427.25 ± 3.77, 79.34 ± 0.33, 4.25 ± 0.07, 4.75 ± 0.07, 1.97 ± 0.27,  4.25 ± 0.08 and 10.46 ± 0.12, respectively. Significant differences in ejaculate volume, mass activity, individual motility and live sperms were observed among the bulls.
